Nice Parking Captain

Ok, I am currently very frustrated with Blogger and not being able to get it to format this blog properly or show the map of this port or our friends on the left column. But anyway - on with this weeks blog!

We are now in the most popular seaside resort in the Netherlands, Scheveningen. To pronounce it properly, you have to do this funny Dutch thing at the beginning that sounds like you are trying to get something out of your throat!

The berth here is amazing because we have only a couple of metres at the front and back of the ship. The Captain had to turn the ship sideways in the very narrow waterway and then parallel park the Logos Hope in the tightest of spaces. Very impressive.

The Logos Hope is berthed just a hundred metres from the beach so it is great for the kids to be able to go there and play and for us to run.

It has been great to already meet up with a number of old ex ship friends and catch up with them. On Saturday there was an ex-OMers and ex Ship reunion onboard and it was a great pleasure to host old friends amongst the hundred or so that came.
It was also great today to meet up with an old Doulos friend who is now one of the top photographers in the Netherlands. He is coming back this week and we will hopefully get some great family pics. So look out for a new picture on the top of our blog soon.

OM Netherlands has been one of the greatest supporters for Logos Hope and actually the Dutch have given more money per head of population than any other country. So it is fantastic that we can come here and say thank you.

We are already getting very excited about sailing into Edinburgh in 2 1/2 weeks. It is incredible that it is now our next port.
