Adjusting to change is part of life. It is certainly part of our lives at the minute and we need to get used to it. But it's not easy when you are 5 years old and you don't understand that you are not going home again after this holiday in Germany for many months!
The impact of our move is now really starting to be felt, particularly by Heather and the kids.
I am writing this onboard Logos Hope in Croatia where I am visiting for a few days. The rest of the family are trying to find some sort of routine in our lives in Mosbach.
Summer arrived in South Germany this weekend - the thermometer at the house we are staying went over 40c on Sunday afternoon. You just don't get that in Edinburgh!!
Thankfully Mosbach has an outdoor swimming pool which we have been making good use of. But just living and doing normal stuff in that heat is difficult.
Here on Logos Hope, we have similar heat and everyone is trying to live and work on board a ship without air conditioning. Right now, at 10.30pm I have 2 fans going and the cabin door open and it's still over 30c. The team here are working in these temperatures every day.
It has been encouraging to see all the work done on board since my last visit in January. However there is still much to do and we still don't have a sailing date for the voyage up to Germany.
Next week we will move into a house on our own for 6 weeks which should allow us to get into a better routine as a family. We are thankful for Skype and email etc to keep in contact.
