Well it's the end of our second weekend in Scheveningen and life onboard is pretty crazy. It is great to see lots of people coming to the ship.
We have been involved in a number of different events onboard. Heather did mime in a youth event last night and Steve hosted groups of people for a partner dinner and a mens breakfast.
It is exciting to be able to share in these different programmes and be part of the ministry onboard.
One of the big challenges we are facing at the moment is the fact that Heather is the only nurse working onboard. She now has to be on call every other day which makes it really difficult to get off the ship a lot of the time. We are hoping that another nurse joins in Edinburgh to release Heather.
We have enjoyed beautiful weather here in Scheveningen since we arrived and last Monday on our day off we visited The Hague and then went to the beach. It was so nice to be out in the sun. If felt like winter was finally over.
We are now just 10 days away from sailing into Edinburgh and are very excited. The ship will arrive early morning on 1st April. Our church is organising a big welcome on the quayside and we expect lots of visitors over the 2 weeks we are there. At the end of the visit, Heather and the children will stay in Edinburgh and I will sail on to the Faroe Islands and then Belfast from where I will fly back to begin our 6 week furlough break.
