So here we are in 2010.

It's hard to believe that it is 10 years since we celebrated the beginning of a new millennium. So much has changed. 10 years ago we didn't have Liam or Kara, we had never heard of the street where we have our home - Palmer Rd, There was no Logos Hope, we hadn't met some of our best friends. What a difference a decade makes.

Even a year is a very long time. Last January we were still stuck in Denmark with the Logos Hope, having not yet sailed. We can now look back on that fantastic time when we sailed out of Denmark, then to Sweden and on to Holland. The best day of the year - sailing into Edinburgh to the best welcome the ship has yet seen. I went to the Faroe Islands while Heather and the kids stayed behind in Edinburgh. We had our furlough while the ship went to Ireland and Wales, then we rejoined in London.
From Cork, Ireland, we made the Atlantic crossing and began our time in the Caribbean.
We have now visited 9 ports in 7 countries in the region.
So now we look ahead to an exciting new year. We expect to visit a few more countries here in the Caribbean - Aruba, Jamaica, Bahamas, Bermuda, Antigua, St Kitts and Dominica. Then we as a family don't know what we are going to do next.
We either leave the ship before it sails across the Atlantic in June, or we stay on to go to West Africa for a couple more ports. But we really believe that we should return to Edinburgh in time for the children to start school in August.
We have really enjoyed our time here in Curacao. It hasn't been a particularly busy port for visitors but it has been a great blessing to the ships company to have such a beautiful berth over the holiday season. We have enjoyed swimming and snorkelling often in the crystal waters right outside our door. We met a local family that gave us a lift the first night here when we tried to hitch hike into town. They took us out yesterday to see the island and we enjoyed a lovely day with them.

On Wednesday we sail the short distance to Aruba where we are still waiting to hear if we will get permission to sell books. On Saturday, we have 2 lads arriving from our church to do the Short Term Exposure Programme onboard so we are really looking forward to that. Coming from Scotland that has been buried in snow for the past few weeks, it will be quite a shock for them.
