Arriving in Germany

Well after all the planning and preperation, tears and goodbyes, we have left Edinburgh and are now in Germany. The last week has involved many goodbyes and it has been difficult to say farewell to so many friends and family. We have also had to pack everything up and clean the house ready for our new tenants.

On Wednesday afternoon we said goodbye to our neighbours and drove away from the house for the last time in 2 years with a car over loaded with all our stuff.
We spent the night at our friends Colin & Alison's before saying final goodbyes Thursday and driving down to Newcastle for the ferry.

The overnight ferry proved to be quite rough and on Friday morning as we approached Amsterdam, we actually needed a pilot to be brought out by helicopter to get the ferry into port, with the assistance of a tug.
Due to the rough seas we were over 2 hours late getting off the ferry on a wet and windy day in Holland. Due to lots of traffic, road works and accidents, what should have been a 6 hour journey took 10 hours.

We were so glad to arrive at our friends Alex and Beth's house here in Mosbach about 9pm last night.
We are now trying to unwind and relax after a tiring and stressful week.
Today we have enjoyed a warm day here and got out to see a bit of the surrounding area.
We'll keep you up to date on what we are up to here in Mosbach in the coming weeks.
