This week saw a significant event in the life of Logos Hope. We finally opened our completely refurbished meeting room called Logos Lounge.
This where most of our community events will be held and many different type of events for all those who come on board.
When we first came to the ship over a year ago, it was partly a workshop and storage area and partly a small meeting area. Over the past year it has been our main meeting room, our dining room and the crews mess.
At the start of the year, I started to help with the work of building the stage - making holes in the concrete for the upright steel struts, then cutting up all the steel for the welders to put together.
When the group of 12 came out from our church in February, one of their main jobs was painting all the steel for the stage.
Now we have a beautiful carpet laid, and a wealth of AV equipment that will allow everyone to see and hear clearly.
Today, I (Steve) MCed the first public meeting in this new room as we host an Alumni event for Danes who have sailed on our ships. It was an all day event and Heather took part as well as she shared her story.
One of the activities that we did was to get everyone to make a Logos Hope model out of some paper and card.
It has been great to meet up with a number of people who previously served on the ships and encourage them to stay involved. There was also an all day programme for the kids.

Another significant event in the past week was the official opening of the health centre onboard. As one of the nurses, Heather got to attend this event along with a number of the donors and sponsors who so generously gave to make this state of the art facitility possible onboard.
Tomorrow, my boss Mark Knight, arrives for a few days so I am looking forward to catching up with him. Heather is now taking singing lessons, learning to play the drums and teaching mime as well as being nurse and "Dining Services Manager" so she is kept very busy. She even says she wants to learn Tae Kwando alongside Liam who is having lessons from one of the Koreans.

And Finally - Will you be our friends?
On the right hand panel, we have added a little feature called "Friends of the Packwoods"
We would love you to sign up to say that you are following the blog. That we can have some idea who is reading this blog and where you come from. So please take a minute just to sign up and become a follower of Packwoods on Logos Hope. Thanks
