Getting back to normal

So here we are back onboard the ship and trying to get back into normal life again.

Everyone we spoke to last week said how hard it is to go back to work after the Christmas and New Year holiday. It's so true that it is difficult to get your mind back on the work and for those of us in Nothern Europe, there is the prospect of several more months of cold and dark days and nights.

Looking back over the past 2 weeks in Edinburgh, it was a fantastic time at home and we want to say a massive thanks to all our friends and family for making it so special but especially for mum Orr and for Colin and Alison for doing so much to spoil us - the food was amazing.

It was great that the kids were able to meet up with Kara's best friend, wee Lewis, the last few days before we came back.

It was a bit of a shock stepping out of the airport at Copenhagen on Sunday and feeling the intense cold - around -12c. The last couple of days have been so cold that the water has frozen around the bow of the ship. We all went to the beach today (at different times) and were amazed to see it all frozen over and covered in ice and snow.

We were also surprised to get back to our cabin after midnight and discover that our ship family had wrapped up every loose item in our cabin and put it under our Christmas tree and filled our toilet and sink with ice. It's nice to have been missed.

So far it seems that we are still on track to have the surveyor come on 26th Jan for our PSSC survey. Lots of work has been done over the holiday season as many project workers came to help and a number of the ships crew kept working nearly every day. It is great to see so many jobs getting finished off.

Today I met up with the team that is going to do line up (advance preparations ) in Edinburgh to give them some insights into the situation there. It is exciting that they are leaving next week to begin preparing for the ships visit. We hope the ship will be there in early April as long as we get the PSSC soon.

Heather may be kept busy the next couple of days as there is a sickness bug onboard. I am getting away from it by leaving at 6.45 to go away for a 2 day leadership retreat.
And finally, today we have gone over 10000 hits on our blog! Thank you everybody that is reading this.

Hello! It's very good to see that you all had a wonderful holiday and a good travel back to the ship! Even though we don't know this beautiful family personally, you all became very important for us! We wish to meet you one day! Until when do you plan to be on board? Because if God wants it, we will go to LH in august/september 2010. Until this time we will be attending to missions course and waiting the time when we will complete one year of marriage. Besides, we love Scotland and we hope to go there one day. Who knows if we can meet there too? Praying for you all,Ton and Jessica
