Drydock agreed at last

Well after many months of discussion, investigation, consideration and frustration, this week we have finally booked a drydock. It is incredible that we have now booked the dock at Landskrone in Sweden, which is the very place we were considering 3 months ago. We will go into the dock on 2nd June.
But we have been on a journey as we tried to understand all of the issues. The major obstacle has been the generator coming from India that was delayed and then diverted and is still on route to Germany, having had a few weeks holiday in UAE in the Gulf. We now hope it will arrive somewhere close by(Hamburg or Bremerhaven) early in April.
Until the engineers have been able to examine the generator and ensure it is ok, we don't want to start to dismantle the old one. So it is actually much better timing for the drydock to be in June.
Landskrone is just north of Malmo, right across from Copenhagen.

We as a family will most probably take the opportunity to return to Edinburgh during the drydock to spend time with family and friends and work alongside the Line Up team preparing for the ship's visit to Edinburgh. It has been exciting sharing with them the past few days about our home city and helping them to prepare to go.

Until the end of May, we will stay in Kiel, although we will have to move berth every week between 8th May and leaving at the end of the month. After drydock we will sail across to a small town south of Copenhagen called Koge. We hope that the work there will be completed in 6 - 8 weeks and we will be able to then sail out of the Baltic to the Faroe Islands and on to the UK.

It's nearly Easter and this week we have seen lots of sunshine but also snow showers every day. It is still very cold here, no one has told the trees it should be Spring.
We are looking forward to having another 2 girls from Carrubbers, Grace and Mairi, with us for another week from Saturday.

On the ship we plan to have a fairly quiet, reflective Easter, with minimum work happening Friday to Monday.

We hope that you all have a very blessed Easter.
