We had a fantastic leaving party on Saturday, which despite the awful wet weather in the morning, turned out to be a lovely afternoon, enabling us to have a bbq and garden party for over 90 friends and family from across the country.
Our friends Colin & Alison let us use their house and garden and Colin bought a great big new bbq especially for the occasion. It was great to have our parents as well as my brother & family and one of Heather's brothers and family with us for the day.
There was a tropical theme with a beach scene and lots of palm trees and some grass skirts. Shame we are going to be in Germany for the next 6 months rather than the tropics.
The kids were kept well entertained with our trampoline which we brought over for the day, and a piniata(?) .thanks Karen. We had a bouncy castle booked but it was cancelled due to rain in the morning.
Later we had karioke with a live band and fireworks. It was a fantastic day and evening.
On Sunday, we had our commissioning service at our church, Carrubbers.
It was great to have so many friends and family there as well and our church family made us feel so blessed. Afterwards we had a great lunch provided by the church and then another chance in the afternoon to share about the work of Logos Hope.
Thanks to everyone that made it such a special weekend for us.
Last week we got tenants for our house and booked our tickets to travel here to Germany. We are taking the overnight ferry from Newcastle on Thurs 5th July and will arrive here in Mosbach on Friday afternoon.
We are looking forward to this next stage in our journey to Logos Hope
